Michael Groh joined the Excel Physical Therapy and Fitness team in December of 2010 as a staff Physical Therapist at the Media location.  He was promoted to clinic manager of the Media location in March of 2011.

Michael graduated from Arcadia University with a Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy.  From a professional standpoint, he has over 8 years practicing in orthopedics and sports medicine and seeks to attain his Maitland certification of manual therapy (COMT).  Michael became certified in the Graston Technique in September of 2011.  He enjoys treating athletes at all levels, disorders of the lower extremity/spine, and chronic overuse injuries.

Michael’s interest in orthopedics and sports medicine is driven from his history as a 3 sport athlete through high school and playing collegiate baseball as an undergraduate student at Beaver College.  During his time in physical therapy school at Arcadia University, he also served as the assistant baseball coach.  Due to Michael’s involvement in athletics and coaching, he was further driven to focus his educational affiliations towards orthopedics and sports medicine.  As a result, he was given the opportunity to work with multiple professional and collegiate athletes which has carried over into his professional career.

Michael focuses on treating each patient as unique individual.  He tailors each of his patient’s treatment sessions based on their needs and functional goals.  Michael is an avid believer in the use of manual therapy techniques for the rehabilitation of his patients.  He also enjoys educating patients and the community on prevention of potential injuries.

In his spare time, Michael’s personal interests include enjoying time with his family, working out, bicycling, and reading.
