Joe Grugan, PTA began his career with Excel Physical Therapy and Fitness in 1998 as a Physical Therapist Assistant at Excel’s Society Hill location. Joe has served as Clinical Director at several locations since 2005. In 2012, Joe became the Clinical Director of our Bensalem clinic.
Joe has an Associates Degree of Science from Harcum College, where he received the award for Clinical Excellence. Prior to joining Excel, Joe worked as a PTA at Pennsylvania Hospital in Center City Philadelphia, where he gained a great deal of experience in orthopedics, especially joint replacement surgery. Joe continues to improve his physical therapy skills with continuing education courses with an emphasis on the spine, orthopedics and work place injuries. In 2009, Joe became certified in the Functional Movement Screen. Joe has a strong interest in treating and preventing work related injuries.
Joe has been married since August, 2003, and now enjoys spending time with his 3 children. Outside of work and family time, Joe plays volleyball, basketball, and enjoys watching all sporting events on television. His true love is basketball, including coaching, which he was able to do for a short time. Joe hopes to fit basketball coaching back into his busy schedule someday soon.
