Domenica joined Excel Physical Therapy and Fitness in January 2011 as a staff physical therapist at the Rothman Institute Center City location.

Domenica graduated from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science.  Throughout her undergraduate career, Domenica received the President’s Award for Academic Excellence and was a member of the National Greek Academic Honor Society. While at Rutgers, Domenica spent a semester studying abroad at the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia.  Upon graduation, she received a certification as a Teacher of English to Speakers of Other Languages by the Trinity College of London. Domenica spent time living in Barcelona teaching English as a foreign language to Spanish-speaking individuals of various ages.  When Domenica returned to her hometown in Southern New Jersey, she coached field hockey and led her team to win the Championship title.

Domenica graduated from the University of Miami in Miami, Florida as a Doctor of Physical Therapy. During her time at Miami, she volunteered for the Hurricane Challenge to increase public awareness of individuals with disabilities and Shake-a-Leg Miami where she assisted children and adults with physical and development challenges sail along the Biscayne Bay. She was involved with a research project at the Miami Project to Cure Paralysis with the distinguished Dr. Edelle Field-Fote.  Along with two other classmates, she presented the research project entitled “Relationships among spinal cord injury walking function tests and 2-minute walk test” at the Combined Section Meeting in San Diego, California in February 2010.

Professionally, Domenica has a special interest in treating sports-related and orthopedic injuries.  Her goal is to treat each individual based on their functional limitations all while promoting an overall healthy well-being and lifestyle.  Domenica hopes to ensure each of her patients undergo a personalized one-on-one therapeutic experience and help them acquire the knowledge and skills to continue a healthier lifestyle in their everyday lives. Her future goals include attaining McKenzie certification for manual therapy (MDT), specializing in Active Release Technique (ART), and ultimately becoming a board certified specialist in Orthopedic Physical Therapy (OCS).

In her spare time Domenica enjoys spending time at the beach, participating in any competitive or outdoor sport, rock climbing, rowing, dancing, and spending time with friends and family.
