Meryl joined the Cherry Hill office of Excel Physical Therapy in August, 2004 and was promoted to Clinic Manager in 2008. She earned her Masters degree in Physical Therapy in 2001 at Temple University. At the time she was given her degree, she also was awarded the Acres of Diamonds award, given to a student who best exemplifies caring and commitment to Temple University’s College of Allied Health Professions. Prior to attending Temple, Meryl completed physical therapy prerequisite courses at Cook College of Rutgers University, graduating with honors with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science.

In addition to her patient encounters in the clinic, Meryl has taken on the role of Center Coordinator for Clinical Education (CCCE), acting as the liaison between physical therapy programs and Excel, placing students for their clinical affiliation experiences. Meryl also serves as a lab instructor for Temple University’s Doctor of Physical Therapy program, assisting in teaching courses in the evaluation and treatment of musculoskeletal disorders. Before joining Excel, Meryl provided physical therapy services for three years at another area outpatient clinic. She gained experience in adult neurological and vestibular rehabilitation in addition to orthopaedic and sports physical therapy.

Meryl continues to broaden her knowledge base through a variety of continuing education courses, including the McConnell approach to treating the problem shoulder; a holistic approach to rehabilitation of the knee, foot/ankle, cervical/thoracic spine, and sacroiliac spine; vestibular rehabilitation; hand rehabilitation; and a clinical approach to myofascial release. Meryl’s clinical interests include sports-related injuries, specifically to that of the shoulder. She also has a strong interest in applying manual therapy to facilitate healing of soft tissue injuries. Meryl became certified in Active Release Technique (ART) in February 2010.

Outside of her career, Meryl enjoys following ice hockey, reading, exercising, and photography. She also cherishes time with her husband, friends, and family.
