Kim joined Excel Physical Therapy and Fitness in May 2000. She holds the position of Vice President of Clinical Operations. In this role, Kim oversees the operations of all the Excel facilities to include quality assurance, staff and clinical development, patient satisfaction and efficient clinic operations.
In 1992, Kim graduated from Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, with a Master and Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Therapy. Honors include election to the Alpha Eta society and recipient of both the Research Assistant Scholarship and the Veteran's Administration Health Professional Scholarship. Prior to attending Thomas Jefferson University, Kim completed physical therapy prerequisite courses at the University of Pittsburgh. While there, she was elected to the Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society.
Prior to joining Excel, Kim had worked with another regional outpatient provider and held multiple roles, including Director of Clinical Operations, Medicare Clinical Compliance Administrator, Supervisor of the MidAtlantic Lymphedema Center and Clinical Director of one of the centers. Preceding this, Kim was a consociate of Barbis-Wallace Spine Therapy, where she provided specialty outpatient physical therapy treatment with an emphasis in brachial plexus traction injuries and symptoms and dysfunction caused by the spine and related structures. As a consultant of Wallace Physical Therapy and Consultation, she provided consultation services for set-up of Physical Therapy-based Medicare-certified facilities, home care physical therapy services, and peer review and expert witness testimony services.
Kim received her Certification in the Mechanical Diagnosis and Treatment of Spinal Pain (McKenzie approach) in 1997. Find out more about this certification by visiting www.mcKenziemdt.org. Her clinical experience primarily includes an orthopedic-based population with emphasis in spinal pain and brachial plexus involvement. She has extensive experience with patients with chronic pain as well. As a result of her interest in chronic pain, she joined her efforts with an Occupational Therapist to develop a Comprehensive Fibromyalgia Syndrome (FMS) Program including both disciplines of Occupational and Physical Therapy. Additionally, she initiated a network of FMS Support Groups throughout the Delaware Valley that are co-sponsored by the Arthritis Foundation. She has been invited to lecture on the topic of physical therapy management of brachial plexus injuries in many forums and teaches as a guest lecturer at Widener University School of Physical Therapy. She is also published in the area of Physical Therapy Management of Brachial Plexopathy.
Outside of work, Kim enjoys spending time with her family and dogs or is involved in extensive home-remodeling projects. She is often found cooking and entertaining for a crowd at her home. Additionally, she enjoys such activities as bicycling, kayaking, backpacking, and weight training.
